Haunt the Night with the Melrose District Halloween Bar Crawl!

November 1, 2023

On Saturday, October 28th, the Melrose District Halloween Bar Crawl is inviting ghouls, ghosts, werewolves, warlocks, and other spooky creatures of the night to celebrate together under the mysterious illumination of the Waning Gibbous moon. With all things wicked flying mischievously through the air, the safest way to get through the night is crawling close to the ground, protected by the witchy spirits of Melrose’s up-and-coming bars.

With fun and friendly vibes, the Melrose District Halloween Bar Crawl is the place to be this Halloweekend! It’s a perfect event for vampires to meet with their colonies, for princes and princesses to find true love’s kiss, and for main characters to have their main character moments. In a limitless city where anyone can be anything, and on a night that only amplifies that message, this Halloween event ensures a night full of magic and mystery. Participating bars include Durango Cantina, Marlowe, Snake Pit Alehouse & Whiskey Bar, Las Perlas Mezcal Bar, and Or Bar.

The festivities will start at 2pm and end at 2am, just in time to get safely home before witching hour. The celebration encourages costumes as imaginative, magical, funny, and/or grotesque as possible. With Los Angeles reigning as the entertainment capital of the world, the city boasts an overwhelming amount of people who dress up for a living. This Halloween, the (wooden) stakes get even higher with the Melrose District Bar Crawl’s Costume Contest. So prepare those pop culture references and couples costumes well, and you and your beau might just be the best version of Justin and Hailey to grace the streets of Los Angeles this weekend.

Recently founded in April of this year, Mexican restaurant Durango Cantina is thrilled to participate in this year’s Halloween celebration. The restaurant is offering discounted pricing to bar crawl participants, and spurring on the good vibes with custom Halloween-themed cocktails. The Vampire Kiss Cocktail adds a fun twist to the infamous vodka cranberry with raspberry liquor and a vampire-inspired blood rim. The Mexican Candy cocktail has Smirnoff Spicy Tamarind Vodka, cranberry juice, and sour mix. Durango Cantina will also serve its full food menu all day.

With the majority of the bars in the same 1.5 mile radius, guests aiming for an efficient route can hatch at Durango Cantina, slither on to Snake Pit, crawl on to Harlowe, stomp on to Las Perlas, then cackle the night away at Or Bar. No matter which route you take, comfortable shoes and a few snacks along the way are definitely the key to making the most of the night. The bars will be serving food and drink specials all day.

Happy Halloween!

Please drink responsibly. This event is for those 21 and up.
